State of Missouri secondary Archives: on Gun Control
Invoked 2nd Amendment to defend themselves against "mob"
Mark McCloskey has spent the majority of his career fighting for Missourians and Americans who need help. After a violent mob stormed onto his property and threatened his family, Mark made national news when he and his wife Patty and invoked their
2nd Amendment rights to defend themselves. After the incident, Mark and Patty spoke at the President Trump's 2020 RNC Convention. They then spent the rest of the campaign traveling the country and speaking in support of the President.
Mark and Patty McCloskey understand the incredible importance of the 2nd Amendment. When a mob came to destroy their home and hurt their family, the McCloskey's were able to protect their home thanks to the right to bear arms.
The McCloskey's story has empowered thousands of new gun owners across the country to purchase a firearm and learn how to defend themselves. Thousands of women have written to Patty to express their gratitude for taking a stand.

Trudy Busch Valentine:
Supports background checks, red flag laws
Trudy respects the Second Amendment and believes that law-abiding Americans have the right to own guns for hunting, sport, and self-defense. At the same time, military-style weapons don't belong on our streets or in our communities.
In the U.S. Senate Trudy will support common sense gun safety reforms like background checks, red flag laws, and preventing people who have been reported as dangerous to law enforcement by mental health providers from purchasing guns.
