On Health Care: Decrease enrollment on government-funded healthcare

Allow insurance companies to sell across state lines. Expanding Health Savings Accounts and thereby making more earnings tax free will give consumers more control over their health care spending. While I support giving states greater flexibility to control costs and address the specific healthcare needs of their citizens, the real goal should be growing job opportunities to decrease enrollment on government-funded healthcare.

On Principles & Values: Parents instilled strong Christian faith

My parents were Southern Baptist medical missionaries who were arrested in communist China for their Christian beliefs. I lost my mother and father in a car crash during my college years. It was a very dark time in my life, but I was able to make it through that time and make something of my life because of my strong Christian faith instilled in me by my parents at a young age and the lessons they taught me. My faith is still at the center of my life and guides the decisions I make every day.
