Dave Webber:
Keep feds out of school choice
Q: Do you support or oppose the statement, "Vouchers for school choice"?A: The Federal Government must stay out of as many social issues as possible. School Choice is available in all states, and should be legislated at the state level.
There are more choices to the conventional school systems, especially for High School and beyond.
Many of these choices are options for incoming Freshmen to have a "choice" of a program which includes high school and community college classes, partnered with local industries, to teach and have internships to electrical
engineering and advanced manufacturing. This will increase graduation rates, as well as provide trained employees for the local businesses, and jobs for students who cannot afford the traditional transition to college.

Vouchers are wrong for paying for private schooling

Paula Overby:
Vouchers are ok locally but not federally
Q: Do you support or oppose the statement, "Vouchers for school choice"?
A: Oppose--A voucher funding model can improve school choice for parents but it also encourages a competitive funding model that tends to focus on maximizing profits over improving quality.
The rapidly rising cost of education and one-and-half trillion dollars in student debt certainly portends the failure of an unregulated private education market. I support a generalized funding model that would minimize disparities

Vouchers are just food stamps for education
Q: Do you support or oppose the statement, "Vouchers for school choice"?A: Strongly oppose. This is just replacing one type of welfare (government schools) with another type of welfare (vouchers). Vouchers are just food stamps for education.
It is the parent's responsibility to provide education, not˙ If it's not your kid, it's not your responsibility. If you can't afford to pay for education, and can't be bothered to learn to homeschool, don't have kids.

Vouchers are regularly abused due to lack of oversight
Q: Do you support or oppose the statement, "Vouchers for school choice"?A: I used to be in agreement with this plan, but have since seen that it is regularly abused and has little to no oversight.
I think with a proper reworking of the tax system and budget that Public school systems could recover and exceed educational standards.˙

Q: Is requiring teacher-led prayer in public schools consistent with the Constitution?
Or student-led prayers?
A: As long as there are tests in school, there will be prayers. Students have the right to pray. Teachers and administrators should not impose any religious requirement on students unless it is a private school.
