Jim Doyle on Health Care

Democratic WI Governor

Improve health care access and affordability

We’ve taken strong steps to improve health care access and affordability in Wisconsin. We saved SeniorCare, providing inexpensive drug coverage to 110,000 seniors. We gave citizens the chance to buy prescription drugs from Canada through a state Web site. I am working to make health coverage available to every child by next year. And I’ve signed a bill to expand FamilyCare statewide so that seniors can get long-term care in their own home instead of being forced into nursing homes.

Priorities are costs, access, and public health

As Governor, Jim Doyle will face up to Wisconsin?s health care crisis. Doyle will move quickly to help control insurance premiums and prescription drug costs, reduce the number of uninsured, expand long-term care opportunities for seniors and improve Wisconsin?s public health efforts.
